Mesa and the East Valley

Hot tub removal. Get your backyard back.

An old spa is the one thing no city pickup will touch. It is heavy, bulky and usually behind a block wall. Hot tub and spa removal is one of our specialties: we pull it out and haul it off.

  • Quote before we load

What we haul away.

If it is on this list, or anything like it, point at it and it is gone. See everything we haul and what junk removal costs.

  • Hot tubs and spas
  • Spa covers and cover lifters
  • Spa steps and surrounds
  • Old pumps and equipment
  • Gazebo panels around the spa
  • Patio furniture nearby
  • Pavers and deck boards
  • Anything else in the yard

Have the power to the spa turned off at the breaker, and have an electrician disconnect it if it is hard-wired, before we arrive.

Three steps to a clear space.

  1. Tell us what has to go

Call, text or send the form. A sentence or a photo is enough: "a couch, a fridge and the pile by the side gate."

  2. Get your quote

We talk through the job and you get a quote before anything is loaded.

  3. We load it and haul it

We do the lifting and the loading, then haul it all away.

Could the city take it instead?

City bulk programs are built for things you can lift. Mesa’s, for example, limits single items by weight:

  • The City of Mesa's bulk item pickup does not take appliances, construction or home remodeling materials, hazardous waste such as oil, paint, batteries, light bulbs and propane tanks, liquids or tires, and a single or bundled item over 60 pounds may be ineligible (checked October 13, 2026).
  • The Town of Gilbert collects a bulk pile larger than 10 by 5 by 5 feet, and no larger than 20 by 5 by 5 feet, as a special pickup for a $100 fee (checked October 13, 2026).

Get ready in five minutes.

  1. Drain it a day or two ahead.
  2. Turn off the power at the breaker.
  3. Have a hard-wired spa disconnected by an electrician.
  4. Measure the gate and the path to the street, or text us a photo.

From a customer

I used Jaime and his crew for the final clean up after an estate sale at my mother's home in Ahwatukee. They removed a hot tub as well as all remaining items in the home. The place was left cleaner than it had been before the sale. They thought of everything and had all the equipment needed on site. The estate agent said it was the best clean up job she had ever seen!

Will the city pick up an old hot tub?

Not through a normal bulk pickup. Mesa, for example, says a single or bundled item over 60 pounds may be ineligible, and a spa weighs many times that. That is why spa removal is usually a job for a hauler.

Do I need to drain it first?

Yes. Drain it a day or two ahead so it can dry out, and turn the power off at the breaker. If it is hard-wired, have an electrician disconnect it first.

How do you get it out of a walled backyard?

Every yard is different, so tell us about the gate, the walls and the path to the street when you call. A photo or two of the spa and the route out helps us quote it right.

How much does hot tub removal cost?

It depends on how much there is and how hard it is to reach. Tell us what you have, or text a photo, and you get a quote first. Our cost guide explains what moves the price and what the cities charge for their own pickups.
