Clearing out a Gilbert home: what to know.
What tends to matter when the junk is in Gilbert, from the city’s own rules and the way its neighborhoods are built.
Bulk follows a zone calendar
The Town of Gilbert picks up bulk trash by trash zone every five weeks, skips the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas, and wants piles at the curb no earlier than the Saturday before the collection week. A move-out or garage purge that lands between those weeks means the pile waits indoors or goes out by another route, since setting it out early breaks the town's rules.
HOAs field off-week curb piles
Many Gilbert neighborhoods, including Power Ranch, Seville, Val Vista Lakes and Agritopia, are marked as having an HOA in the Town of Gilbert's neighborhood map. The Town of Gilbert's schedule page sends questions about bulk set out on the wrong week to the community association or HOA, and an HOA manager can book a one-time pickup of that pile at the association's expense, so in these communities an early curb pile is an HOA matter as much as a town one.
Appliance fees follow your bulk week
The Town of Gilbert does not take refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters or air conditioners in bulk trash. Residents can call the Town to schedule up to two appliances per pickup for a $16 trip fee during their bulk week or $85 outside it, and the Town asks for that call before noon on the Tuesday of the bulk week. Flat screen TVs and other electronics are also left out of bulk and can be taken to the Town's Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
Self-hauling takes a utility bill
The Town of Gilbert lets residents take one load of up to one ton every 30 days to one of two designated transfer stations at no cost, with a valid photo ID showing the same name and address as their most recent Town of Gilbert utility bill, and the load cannot include household hazardous waste, appliances or televisions. Anyone without a current Town utility bill in their own name may not qualify, and then hiring the haul is the simpler route.

From a customer
I used Jaime and his crew for the final clean up after an estate sale at my mother's home in Ahwatukee. They removed a hot tub as well as all remaining items in the home. The place was left cleaner than it had been before the sale. They thought of everything and had all the equipment needed on site. The estate agent said it was the best clean up job she had ever seen!
Gilbert questions

My Gilbert bulk week is a month away. What are my options?
You can wait for your zone's turn, request a special pickup, haul the load yourself, or hire a hauler. The Town of Gilbert lets residents request a special bulk pickup outside their scheduled week for a $100 fee, and it lets residents self-haul one load every 30 days to a designated transfer station with a photo ID that matches their most recent Town utility bill. If you would rather have it loaded and hauled, call or text (602) 486-2331 with your address to confirm we cover your street.
Who handles bulk trash put out on the wrong week in my Gilbert neighborhood?
Start with your HOA or community association. The Town of Gilbert's schedule page directs those questions to the association, and an HOA manager can call the Town to book a one-time pickup of the pile at the association's expense.
Will Gilbert's bulk pickup take old cabinets, carpet or a bathtub?
No. The Town of Gilbert lists cabinets, carpet and pad, tile, tubs and showers among the construction debris its bulk program does not collect. Call or text (602) 486-2331 with photos and your address if you want to ask whether it is a job we take.
